Sad News
from the very very sad and unfortunate department we announce that west indian girl and mariqueen have parted ways. due to her recent life and priority changes she will no longer be part of our group. we wish her nothing but the best as she embarks on a new chapter of her new life outside of this band. she sacrificed a lot over the years and her loyalty and professionalism to this family will sorely be missed. she will, however, always remain in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. thank you q, we love and miss you.
how does this affect our upcoming shows in august? well, as cliche as it may sound “the show must go on”. due to the incredibly short notice of this situation there will be NO replacement for the 2 upcoming house of blues shows this week. there will be some sort of replacement or the possibility of multiple guest vocalists for the 2 festival shows in late august. i hope all our loyal west indian girl fans will understand this difficult situation and bear with us during this transition.
that said… bring on the american idol west indian girl show. if you’re a creative female with a killer voice then get in touch. effective immediately we are officially auditioning for her permanent replacement. please email info@westindiangirl.com if you would like to audition. thanx
Pithetic. I hope she realizes afterwards that she has no career and is only married to Trent. Her only true accomplishment??
feel bad for yall but its okay… like your music and think you all “WAIL” anyway i understand shes getting married and a huge step and i think thats also why trent doestn want to tour in the future. they are both getting older, wiser and need to settle down… maybe we’ll see some babies too! (hope so) and everyone on the web who keeps hating on these two. you need to quit! shes a beautiful, talented woman and so is he and they deserve each other. quit being jealous and just respect the two of them and embrace that they want to get married! i’m happy for Mariqueen and Trent and i wish you two the VERY VERY BEST!!!!
LOL – most of the comments were deleted. We can’t even say we love the band but knew she would leave? Calling her a gold digger is just making an observation. In Mariqueen’s case, a very accurate observation.
Amy, Mark, Robert, and Fran … keep it going, keep it going! I look forward to hearing how you sound as a quartet at HOB. – Nick 🙂
Sad to hear Mariqueen has left West Indian Girl but I am sure she has her reasons and needs. Hope the best for her and Trent and I will still be here to support her and the existing band. Best of luck finding a replacement female vocalist! Question is who is going to be the lucky replacement singer?
🙂 That was fast
Yowza! I’d definitely apply if I didn’t have to work on finishing high school this year.
Awww, and I so loved that she was a part of West Indian Girl. I will still be following her career, as I am very drawn to her balls-to-the-wall approach to life. I will also still follow West Indian Girl. It is great music to listen to while I write or when I’m playing with my daughter. Thank you, Mariqueen, for the time you were with them, and thank you, West Indian Girl, for being open to us NIN fans who came over to learn about you!
